For the Casserole:

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 12 oz egg noodles (cooked and drained)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (thawed)

For the Topping:

  • ½ cup crushed buttery crackers or breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the chicken, cooked noodles, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, 1 cup cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, peas and carrots, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Transfer to dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  4. Prepare topping: In a small bowl, mix the crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
  5. Add cheese: Top with the remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until hot and bubbly with a golden topping. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
