For the Casserole:
- 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 12 oz egg noodles (cooked and drained)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (thawed)
For the Topping:
- ½ cup crushed buttery crackers or breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the chicken, cooked noodles, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, 1 cup cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, peas and carrots, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Transfer to dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Prepare topping: In a small bowl, mix the crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
- Add cheese: Top with the remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until hot and bubbly with a golden topping. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
