For the Spaghetti Filling:
- 4 small hoagie rolls or sub rolls
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1/2 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
- 6 ounces cooked spaghetti
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Topping:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Hoagie Rolls: Cut a V-shaped wedge out of the top of each hoagie roll and remove some bread inside to create space for the filling. Toast the rolls in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Cook the Filling: In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook ground beef until browned. Add onion, garlic, marinara sauce, cooked spaghetti, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Fill the Rolls: Fill each toasted roll with the spaghetti mixture.
- Add Toppings: Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
