Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
Cream Cheese Mixture:
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Additional:
- 8 ounces egg noodles or rotini, cooked and drained
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Mix cream cheese: In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, and Parmesan until smooth.
- Layer the casserole: In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the pasta, spread the cream cheese mixture, add remaining pasta, top with meat sauce, and sprinkle mozzarella over the top.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Let rest before serving.
Notes
- This casserole can be assembled ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
- Substitute ground turkey or sausage for beef if desired.
- Add chopped spinach or bell peppers for extra veggies.
