Description

These Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a perfect bite-sized version of the classic Philadelphia favorite. Featuring thinly sliced ribeye steak, sautéed bell peppers and onions, provolone cheese, and a buttery garlic-parsley brushed bun, they’re an ideal game day snack, party appetizer, or quick dinner option.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Vegetables

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak (or deli roast beef)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced

Cheese and Buns

  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls

Additional Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the assembled sliders.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the sliced onions and green bell peppers for 5–6 minutes until they are soft and lightly caramelized. This step enhances their sweetness and flavor.
  3. Cook Steak: Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the skillet with the cooked vegetables and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes until the steak is heated through and combined well with the peppers and onions.
  4. Prepare Buns: Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish to form the base of the sliders.
  5. Assemble Sliders: Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise over the bottom halves of the buns. Layer half of the provolone cheese evenly over the buns, then add the steak and vegetable mixture as the next layer, and top with the remaining cheese slices.
  6. Add Top Buns: Place the tops of the slider buns over the assembled fillings to complete the sliders.
  7. Brush with Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns for added flavor and a golden crust.
  8. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes. This will allow the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld.
  9. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for another 5–7 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  10. Cool and Serve: Allow the sliders to cool slightly before slicing and serving to avoid burning and to help them set.

Notes

  • For a quicker alternative, use deli roast beef instead of cooking fresh ribeye.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or hot peppers to the steak mixture for extra flavor and heat.
  • These sliders are perfect for parties, game day snacks, or quick weeknight dinners.
