Description

Main Burger Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices white or sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, pickles, caramelized onions, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

  1. Prepare Burger Patties: Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into 4 thin, equal-sized patties.
  2. Cook Patties: Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. Assemble Sandwiches: Butter one side of each bread slice. Place a slice of bread butter-side down in a skillet, add a slice of American cheese, a cooked burger patty, a slice of cheddar cheese, and another slice of bread, butter-side up.
  4. Grill Sandwiches: Grill over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side, pressing gently, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted. Repeat for remaining sandwiches.
  5. Serve: Serve hot with optional toppings on the side or inside the sandwich.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, spread garlic butter on the bread before grilling.
