Description

These French Dip Biscuits are a fun twist on the classic sandwich. Flaky biscuit cups filled with tender roast beef, caramelized onions, and gooey cheese, served with a side of savory au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Biscuits:

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated flaky biscuit dough

For the Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 pound deli roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices provolone cheese, halved

For Topping:

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a muffin tin.
  2. Caramelize Onions: Sauté onions in olive oil until soft and caramelized. Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and thyme. Remove from heat.
  3. Prepare Biscuit Cups: Flatten biscuit dough and press into muffin tin cups. Fill with roast beef, onions, and cheese. Fold dough over filling.
  4. Top and Bake: Brush biscuits with butter, parsley, and garlic salt. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden.
  5. Make Au Jus: Combine au jus mix with water, simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Serve: Serve biscuits warm with au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use homemade biscuit dough as well.
  • Feel free to substitute provolone with Swiss or mozzarella cheese.
