Description

Indulge in the savory delight of this French Dip Biscuit Bake, a comforting twist on the classic sandwich. Tender roast beef, caramelized onions, and gooey cheese, all nestled in fluffy biscuits and served with warm au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Biscuit Bake:

  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ pound deli roast beef, chopped
  • 1½ cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

For Serving:

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can beef consommé or au jus sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Caramelize onions in olive oil and add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, thyme, and pepper. Stir in roast beef until heated.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Cut biscuits into quarters and mix with beef-onion mixture and 1 cup of cheese. Transfer to baking dish, top with remaining cheese, and brush with melted butter.
  3. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown. Warm beef consommé on the stove.
  4. Serve: Rest bake, garnish with parsley, and serve hot with au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use homemade biscuits for a personal touch.
  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of soy sauce to the au jus.
