Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Base
- 1 (12-inch) pizza crust (store-bought or homemade)
Beef Topping
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Sauce
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
Cheese and Vegetables
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
- 1 Roma tomato, diced
- Shredded lettuce (for topping)
Optional Garnish
- Sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Crust: Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). If using raw pizza dough, roll it out onto a pizza pan or baking sheet and pre-bake for 5–6 minutes to get a slightly crisp base that holds toppings well.
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef seasoned with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
- Make the Sauce and Spread: In a small bowl, combine ketchup and yellow mustard to create a tangy burger-style sauce. Spread this mixture evenly over the pre-baked pizza crust.
- Assemble the Pizza: Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the sauce, then evenly distribute the cooked ground beef and diced red onion on top. Follow by adding the remaining cheese evenly over the toppings.
- Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately top it with chopped dill pickles, diced Roma tomato, and shredded lettuce for a fresh crunch and authentic cheeseburger flavor. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds around the pizza crust edges for garnish.
- Slice and Serve: Slice the pizza into 8 pieces and serve warm to enjoy the perfect blend of cheeseburger and pizza tastes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add crumbled cooked bacon or drizzle some burger sauce on top just before serving.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute the crust with your preferred gluten-free pizza base.
- Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content if desired.
- Shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce works best for topping to keep the crunch.
