For the Oatmeal:

  • 2 cups steel-cut oats
  • 6 cups milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • ½ cup brown sugar (or honey)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For Toppings:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • ½ cup strawberry preserves (optional for extra sweetness)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Grease the slow cooker: Coat the inside of a slow cooker with nonstick spray or butter.
  2. Combine ingredients: In the slow cooker, mix oats, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir well.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours (or high for 3 to 4 hours), stirring occasionally.
  4. Add strawberries: Just before serving, stir in sliced strawberries and optional preserves.
  5. Serve: Spoon oatmeal into bowls, top with Greek yogurt and extra strawberries.
