- 3 pounds chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can beef consommé or beef broth
- 1 cup water
Additional Ingredients:
- 4–6 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns
- 6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
- Optional fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Sear the chuck roast in a skillet until browned.
- Cook: Slow cook the beef until tender for 7–8 hours on low or 4–5 hours on high.
- Shred and Toast: Shred the beef, prepare au jus, assemble sandwiches with cheese, and toast until the cheese melts.
- Serve: Serve warm with au jus for dipping.
Transfer the roast to a slow cooker and add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, seasonings, beef consommé, and water.
