Filling:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (cut into 8 cubes and frozen)
  • For Boiling:

    • 8 cups water
    • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar

    For Topping:

    • 2 tablespoons melted butter
    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
    • 1 tablespoon dried parsley or Italian seasoning
    • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Making the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy. Add flour and salt, knead until smooth. Let rise.
  2. Shaping the Bagels: Divide dough, wrap cream cheese in each, shape into bagels, let rest.
  3. Boiling and Topping: Boil bagels in honey water, brush with garlic butter mixture, sprinkle with salt.
  4. Baking: Bake at 400°F for 18–22 minutes until golden. Serve warm.
