Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.

  4. Mix Creamy Ingredients: Add the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, drained corn, salt, and black pepper to the beef mixture. Stir until everything is thoroughly combined.
  5. Assemble Casserole: Spread the beef and creamy mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Top with Tater Tots: Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the surface of the casserole.
  7. Bake Tater Tots: Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes, until the tater tots turn crispy and golden brown on top.
  8. Add Remaining Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the baked tater tots. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
