  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Combine warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Add wet mixture to dry ingredients, stir until a shaggy dough forms. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
  2. Make the Filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and chai spices. Roll out dough, spread filling, roll into a log, slice into rolls, place in baking dish. Let rise for 30–45 minutes.
  3. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 22–25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.
