For the Chai-Spiced Filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Combine warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Add wet mixture to dry ingredients, stir until a shaggy dough forms. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
- Make the Filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and chai spices. Roll out dough, spread filling, roll into a log, slice into rolls, place in baking dish. Let rise for 30–45 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 22–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the Glaze: Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.

- To make ahead, assemble the rolls and refrigerate overnight. Let them rise at room temp before baking the next morning.
