Description

Indulge in the decadent flavors of a classic Black Forest Cake with a twist in this rich and creamy Black Forest Cheesecake. A chocolate cookie crust, velvety chocolate cheesecake filling, and a cherry topping create a luscious dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling:

  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and slightly cooled

For Topping and Garnish:

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Combine chocolate cookie crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press into a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 8-10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  2. Make the Filling: Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, sour cream, and melted chocolate. Pour over crust and bake.
  3. Cool and Chill: After baking, cool the cheesecake in the oven, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Top and Garnish: Spread cherry pie filling over the cheesecake. Whip cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Decorate the cheesecake with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of kirsch (cherry liqueur) to the batter or cherry topping.
  • Always cool the cheesecake gradually to prevent cracks.
