Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the sour cream, eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Bake the brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
- Make the brown butter frosting: Melt the butter in a saucepan until golden brown, then let cool slightly. In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Beat until smooth and fluffy, adding more milk as needed for spreadable consistency.
